The African military connection is your one stop auction house and trade post for all themes connected to The Dark Continent. Africa's military history extends before the Anglo-Boer War and such medals and equipment has a fascinating historical tale to go with it. The boer war memorabilia section offers the public the chance to own a piece of history and that is something that couldn't really be bought or sold one day. It may even be a priceless ornament such as a lost brooch or uniform.
The heritage that was made for us from the wars past have a significant effect on where we are going. The Anglo-Boer wars, the Rhodesian war the World Wars in which South Africa played a pivotal role in securing the continent. Medals were handed out to those deserving and some have been lost and never reclaimed. The AMC is here to ensure that the findings will be curated and made available for the public and their interests.
The historical selection of books and literature is by far one of the most resourceful sources of information. If you are not a fan of the military badges on display but more on the story of them then this is where you will find the literature. Perhaps something to display alongside the items of armour. The resources available all have a story to tell but it is easier with the literature.
The African Military Connection is a one-of-its-kind in South Africa and will be the solution to the questions of the past. Tales from soldiers, commanders and inmates alike all had their chance to tell of their experiences by creating items that have been carved from wood and bone. The commanders of course were given medals and uniforms whereas the prisoners had nothing but managed to create wonderfully carved items to sell for tobacco.
This is the chance to learn more about your history if you are from this continent. And if not this is still a collection of resources that have a value in history. A time and place that brought suffering so that there would be no more war. We salute the AMC for keeping alive the memories of the past.
