Youtube Online Video Editor

Written by Thom Henderson
youtubeeditorSo you bought a really expensive digital video camera but the software is being difficult with you. Not working or not updating. Just forget about the complicated tools they have given you. Now there is a simple solution online. With software installations and complicated instructions, editing video can be a hassle, but we think it should be easy. I recently found out about the new editing software from YouTube.

This is a brand new face of Youtube which is still in the early testing phases but can be used by anyone with a YouTube Account.

It's available in TestTube, where YouTube engineers and developers test out new tools and get feedback from the community on how they're doing. The feedback is seriously appreciated and leaving any kind of comment will help their research.

With this new editor, you can:
  1. Combine multiple videos you've uploaded to create a new longer video
  2. Trim the beginning and/or ending of your videos
  3. Add soundtracks from our AudioSwap library of tens of thousands of songs (but only one song per film)
  4. Create new videos without worrying about file formats and publish them to YouTube with one click—no upload necessary
  5. All that, and you don't need to install any extra software.
  6. Here's a video from YouTube user rewboss that gives you a glimpse of how it works
User manuals are great and gain instant trust with its friends. This video I just watched was very well done and I can see plenty of fans for rewboss already. The function of the new YouTube Editor will greatly aid many young filmmakers out there trying to make online films.

It is a simple process and the only way forward i can see for the development is adding multiple soundtracks and a mixing station for the audio. One step at a time though. And with this editing tool it will create a whole new wave of online filmmakers without experience in digital formatting, editing and distribution.

The future will see a whole new genre of youtube videos, music videos and entertainment in general on youtube. Combining your own videos allows for awesome montage's and even a feature production. This will give users without the technology at home to create these films online. Now we just have to hope the seacom cable stay online.
