New Algorithm Ends Link Farms SEO Featured

Written by Thom Henderson

This blog has been on the shelf for quite a few weeks but let us see if we can understand the latest changes in the Google algorithm. These changes are happening all the time and we can expect the richest company in the world to work tirelessly to ensure the best results for every user.

This latest change is to cut out “Black hat” tactics that poor SEO companies use in order to force their way up the rankings. They do this by placing hundreds of links on link farm websites. I’m sure you have come across these before. Each webpage has hundreds of outgoing links placed all over the footer and menus.

The change represents massive alterations to the algorithm and surprisingly this has affected the top 1-3 search results. Meaning that those websites using content farms did manage to get themselves to the top by using link farms and who knows what other black hat tactics. The top results show that abusing the Google algorithm will get you to the top, but I’m pretty sure that those websites have now been massively penalised and can’t return to the dizzy heights of the Search Results.

We can say that the travel and commerce industry will be happy that low quality websites using link farms will be a thing of the past. This is a great leap for Google and the end user who will keep on using Google for excellent search results without spam content and link farms.
