Cosmetic surgery involves the enhancing of the natural features of the body and common procedures involve surgery to improve facial features resulting in a younger look, abdominal surgery to get rid of excess skin and fat as well as breast procedures and liposuction
Botox has become a very popular means as a short alternative to cosmetic surgery in reducing facial wrinkles including frown lines, horizontal forehead lines, and crow feet around the eyes and certain lines around the mouth. Frown lines are the vertical lines caused by contraction of muscles that lower the central side of the eyebrows. The Botox injection causes the muscles to relax, softening and sometimes completely eliminating the vertical lines.
A tummy tuck is well suited for women with weak abdominal muscles and excess skin and is related to pregnancies, weight loss, ageing and other reasons. The condition does not respond well to diet or exercise and can be corrected surgically with very pleasing results. The plastic surgery is designed to address both the loose muscles and the excess skin. Stretch marks which are present in the lower part of the abdomen are removed partially or completely during the plastic surgery. The incision is individually planned for each patient. Most commonly, a horizontal lower abdominal incision is used which can be easily covered underneath the bikini line. A second incision is sometimes performed around the belly button, giving a specific consideration to the aesthetics of this part.
